Parking Garages

After a beautiful wedding ceremony this morning I had a much less than beautiful disaster...

Prior to the wedding I called Jake and told him, "I know I am going to forget, so remind me that I parked on Level P3 next to the U3 pole." Jake thought I was crazy but promised to remind me none the less. So I went to the wedding, enjoyed the beautiful sealing, congratulated the beautiful couple, stuck around in the beautiful weather for some beautiful pictures then decided that work was calling my name so I should probably head out.

On my way to the parking garage I remembered all by myself that I was parked on level P3 next to the U3 pole and I didn't even have to call Jake! I walked down to where I thought level P3 was with some other wedding guests and quickly realized that there was no U3 there... They asked if I needed a ride or if they should stick around until I found my car but I simply waved them off and told them it was probably level P2 and I was just crazy so they could leave and I would see them at the reception later.

I began searching in high heels and a clingly dress through Levels P2, P1, and P4 for that stupid U3 pole that I couldn't find on P3 and had no luck! I started sweating and I really had to go to the bathroom and maybe I wanted to cry a little bit. I called Jake after 20 minutes of searching and clarified that I wasn't crazy and he verified that I told him P3 U3... He then suggested I pray about it - been there done that, about 20 times - I had just come from the temple, it was my first thought and I was really feeling lucky with the spirit on my side, but apparently the time wasn't right quite yet. Jake also suggested hitting the panic button. Our car is ghetto, it has no panic button.

Another 10 minutes of looking and I called Taylor (my amazing and wonderful sister-in-law) and enlisted her help in finding my lost car. She arrived after being hastled by the parking guard about coming into a full lot and her and I having quite the difficult time just finding each other in that blasted parking garage. We drove around for another 15 minutes searching for P3 U3 with still no luck. I'm pretty positive we now know the parking lot under the conference center like the back of our hands. At one point we found a car that looked identical to ours and I even got out and tried to unlock it only to be shut down. I called Jake again and his words of advice, "You should totally blog about this!" My thoughts, "Thanks Jake, I'll be sure to do that if I ever get out of this freaking parking garage!!"

Finally after no less than fifty minutes of searching, and me seriously considering quitting my job, or making Jake come pick me up and fail his final, or just moving into that parking garage, Taylor and I found our car on level P3 next to the U3 pole. We almost drove passed the freaking row because we thought we already looked there. My car was hidden in a half row with only like 5 other cars parked there. P3 was a half imaginary parking level that probably only existed when you really needed it, kind of like that room in the Harry Potter books.

After I finally got in my car I decided that my first idea to park on the hill next to the conference might not have been a bad idea after all, lesson learned the hard way. Well, all that set aside, I hope that Scott and Tehani had a wonderful wedding - it is a wedding I will always remember!

The Three Best Friends That Anyone Could Have - Kaylyn

Meet Kaylyn Cherie Shinners:

Kaylyn Shinners (previously Swanson) recently married her high school sweetheart Joe. Kaylyn received her associates degree from USU and is now enrolled in the BYU nursing program, and killing it might I add. Kay and Joe are also in the process of becoming homeowners - they rock! Kaylyn is an athlete through and through and will take you on in any sport and most likely come out on top.

Kaylyn and I were in the same Kindergarten class; one day while playing on the bee infested playground we found each other and we asked each other if we wanted to be friends and have been inseparable ever since. I can honestly say that Kaylyn was my very first best friend ever. Kaylyn is the mediator in our group. Everyone talks to her to get a message out to the rest of the group. She always knows what's going on with everyone else. Kaylyn is a faithful friend, I have never doubted that she will be there for me and my family until the day I die. I'm pretty positive my mom has mistaken Kaylyn for me on several occassions.

Most Memorable Moments with Kaylynnie:
-Going to her house after school without telling my mom and getting in REALLY big trouble
-Playing on every single sports team with Kay - usually the coaches were my parents or hers
-Peeling crayons and pretending to read in Mrs. Gillies class
-Fourwheel Sledding in the backyard and almost killing Nisa by running her into a fence
-Having fights about who Brindley said she liked more
-Begging our parents to let us have sleepovers and staying up for hours
-Always knowing that I have a friend for life who won't leave me for anything

Thanks for reading my blog too Kay, you're super great! I can't believe you have stuck with me through all these years. I have loved growing up with you and seeing how amazing you have become. I have become a better person just from knowing you. I sure do love ya girlie! We will always be BFFs.

XOXO Karlie

(I have) the three best friends that anyone could have and we'll never ever ever leave eachother!

The Three Best Friends That Anyone Could Have - Hailey

Meet Hailey Bree Francis

Hailey Bree is dating Todd Oakey, and don't they just make a lovely couple? Hailey recently graduated from UVU with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Now she is currently working as Paralegal in the medical malpractice department. To say Hailey is obsessed with the number 4 and the word domination would be an understatement.

I met Hailey in about 3rd grade. We went to the same gymnastics gym and the first time I met her she asked if she could borrow my chap stick - the rest is history! Hailey and I also unknowingly were in the same dance class when we were really young, but the time wasn't right for our friendship to bloom quite then. Hailey is the friend that everyone wants and needs. She will bend over backwards for you. Not to mention that she is a mean get together planner. The rest of us tend to slack in that area so we can always count on Hay. She is also going to heaven without a doubt in my mind. I don't think Hailey ever swears or thinks bad of other people or ever does anything mean intentionally - she is a saint.
My favorite memories w/ Hailey:
-Living w/ her for the first two years out of college
-Working with her everyday
-Dancing on her roof then getting busted by her mom because I left graham crackers out
-Lake Powell trips with her family
-Our first unsupervised trips to St. George and California where we mostly laid out, shopped and ate
-Sitting in her "den" for hours talking on MSN Instant Messenger
-Commiserating about how awful knee surgery can be (she had it much worse than I did)
-Always knowing that I can rely on her and cry to her and she will love me no matter what

Hailey also reads my blog on a regular basis which is super great (Thanks Hay). Hailey has been my strength for many years, especially those formative years right out of high school. I don't think words can express just how lucky and grateful I am to have you in my life. I love you girl, I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Here's to forever!

The 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have - Anisa

I think that I have "the three best friends that anyone could have"... (movie anyone...???) I want to devote a special post to each of my girls to let them know how much I love and appreciate all that they have done for me. I will go in alphabetical order. Let me introduce my friend Anisa...

Meet Anisa: (She is the one w/ the ring on her finger - the only dark haired one...)
Anisa Woods, previously Andrus, was recently married to Bronzson Woods. Nisa loves Seinfeld and the number 3. She received her associates degree in high school (she's probably the smartest out of our whole group - no offense guys) and has attended U of U, UVU and USU. Now she is working on Pharmacy school up at ISU. This summer we are all so happy that she is doing an internship down in Spanish Fork so we get to see her. Anisa is my personal pharmacist for whenever I have questions about any random pills I'm being prescribed, it's so great!
I met Nisa in about 3rd grade. We both knew Kaylyn and Hailey so fate had it that we were to be friends. Nisa is my crazy friend. For some reason, whenever she wants to do something that is normally out of character for me, I always want to do it with her. She has funny quirks that make us all laugh but she knows how to be serious and get down to business when it's time.

Some of my favorite things I have done with Nis have been:
-Acting like we were random people while we went on "dates"
-Making frequent visits to Dirty Hairy (a nasty resevoir up Hobble Creek Canyon which has sense drained)
-Playing badmitton and basketball on her mini hoop in the basement and getting my butt kicked everytime
-Getting to visit her at the many different colleges she has attended
-Spray painting our hair and making Kay look like a witch
-Running the Dirty Dash for the 1st time ever
-Making trips to St. George & Park City to her step-dad's houses
-Talking about the serious stuff and getting the honest to goodness truth that I know I need to hear

Nisa is also a faithful blog follower of mine which always makes me feel great. (Thanks Nis) She has always been there for me through thick and thin. Just wanted to let ya know how great I think you are. Thanks for being my best friend, I don't know where I'd be without you. I look forward to many more years as best friends. Love you!
