I've decided that I love when Jake blogs. Jake's posts are much more exciting than mine. I may post pictures with mine, but I always find myself honestly laughing out loud in my cubicle when I read Jake's posts. I know I'm no blogging pro, but I thought for today I would try out Jake's take on blogging, and tell a funny story that I want to remember forever.
This story takes place in the fall of 2009. Jake and I had been casually "hanging out" for a few months when Jake decided to be a man and ask me out on an official date. I had been raving for weeks about how much I loved 500 Days of Summer. Jake had never seen the movie and I let him know that was unacceptable. I didn't want him to see this movie with another girl, but I might have considered it sketchy if he saw it with another guy, and seeing the movie solo was not an option. Jake picked up on the hint and we went on our first date to see the movie.
Jake and I weren't quite at the level that we were physically comfortable around each other (i.e. cuddling, hugging, etc.) so this movie had potential to be a big step for us! Since I had already seen the movie I let my mind wander to how available I was making myself.
Was I being too needy by openly resting my arm on the arm rest nearest him?
I quickly folded my arms.
Was I being too closed off now?
I decided to rest my hands in my lap.
Jake seemed completely absorbed in the movie so I decided to just relax and enjoy my favorite movie.
Midway through the movie Jake decided that there was something extremely interesting in the back of the theater and encouraged me to turn back and look. I put my hand down on the seat to turn myself around; Jake then put his hand on top of mine to "turn himself around too."
Jake, deciding that there wasn't really anything interesting in the back of the theater, quickly said, "Karlie, did you just grab my hand?" I was slightly caught off guard so I just played along. "Sure did Jake!" We were both smiling ear to ear for the rest of the movie. My favorite hand holding memory ever! Even though it's pretty cheesy, I love my honey, even when he is too scared to hold my hand!
Ah ha ha ha!!! So jake!!! This is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat was my first reaction too! This sounds exactly like what Jake would do! haha so great.
